Interview – Stephen J. Clark

There is a good interview with my old friend, Stephen J. Clark, to be found here on the website of author, Angela Slatter, in which he gives a clear account of the relationship between his own creative impulses, as manifested in both written and visual forms, and surrealism, individually and collectively.

Stephen’s latest book, The Bestiary of Communion, a collection of short stories illustrated by the author, is due to be published next month by Ex Occidente Press.

The photograph here is one that I took of Stephen on a Sunday afternoon in The Free Trade pub, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, in July 2005.
